Non-Profit Spotlight: Bill Wright, Founder, Love Ran Red Foundation
Bill Wright is the founder for Love Ran Red Foundation. He and his wife, Cathy, are the parents of a teenage boy with autism. Currently 81% of children who move into adulthood also live with their parents. Bill and Cathy understand firsthand the concerns of many families who struggle to raise children with autism and developmental disabilities. They decided to start such a foundation to help meet these needs, but also to assist families with essential living assistance. Because most government programs end at age 21, they decided that financially helping to relieve the cost burden to families was essential. In fact, Love Ran Red’s ultimate goal is providing housing for adults with autism and developmental disabilities. However, in the short term, they provide professional in-home assistance to give parents, caring for autistic loved ones, some free time to enjoy a dinner out, take in a movie, walk in the park, etc. For the many people with autism, Love Ran Red is a foundation for an individual’s well-being, safety, fulfillment as a human, and means to thrive.
